i moved!

and what it has to do with ADHD-friendly productivity

Tonight I’m writing this from my GENIUS KITCHEN ISLAND TROLLEY 🤩

it’s nighttime bc i always procrastinate writing these til the night before 💀

this genius idea was my boyfriend’s 🤩

I just moved into an apartment - my first time moving out

(At 26 which feels older than usual but I try not to compare).

It was overwhelming…not just because of the admin and planning,

But because of expectations.

Here are some examples to show you what I mean…

Expectation: spend $6k on furnishing apartment

My bf and I had to buy:

  • A fridge

  • A washer

  • All the furniture

On top of paying rent 😅 (rent and bills were already like $3k AUD in Sydney).

Here’s how much we actually spent:

$2.5k AUD (or 1.6k USD).

should i make a template for this? reply and let me know

It’s because we didn’t mind buying used from FB marketplace.

Plus, we cut out a bunch of big purchases…

Expectation: buy a TV and sofa

Every apartment has one.

But tbh I don’t really watch TV,

And if I did, I’d rather watch stuff on my laptop or a projector on the wall anyway.

So we decided to buy a memory foam rug instead.

TV and sofa → tatami mat vibe + bookshelf 🤩

It was the same with my desk…everyone has a desk (or a standing desk).

But I’m using a kitchen trolley I can roll around 😅

I can use this trolley as a kitchen island or as my desk.

IT’S SO FUN omg I already rolled myself all around this apartment while writing this.

I also got this random peg board thingy AND LOVE IT.

rn it only has my dishsoap powder (you add it to a bottle w water, so cool)

needed to fill the space so here’s me in the moving truck w Ghostie + co

This all got me thinking…

ADHD-friendly productivity

A lot of productivity tips out there are for neurotypical people.

But true productivity comes from creating systems that work best for you.

I created an environment I knew I’d thrive in:

  • Rolling standing desk

  • Comfy memory rug for my floor laying time

  • Bookshelf instead of TV

You can apply the same principles across all areas of your life.

Like I design my digital environment the same way - so it makes sense for my brain.

sponsored post coming soon!! so hyped

the notion page i look at daily 🫶

But how do you design systems that work for you?

You just gotta be creative - something you’re already great at 🫶
