The last few weeks, I’ve been chatting with students from the life tracking course (enrollment open now!).
A common theme I’ve seen is that everyone said “I didn’t have enough time…”
But after getting vibe checked (tracking their time and energy), they realized:
The time was always there.
It’s just a matter of building better systems.
Here’s what happened with some of these students after implementing these systems:
Sahana made time for content creation, something she never realized she had time for
Siva finished a draft of his novel
Francesca shifted from society-prescribed goals to personally meaningful ones - identifying what she actually wanted her life to look like
Many other students (keeping anon for privacy) told me they recovered from burnout and dark times after reflecting more meaningfully about their lives

Here are some of the systems they highlighted as helpful.
System 1: tracking time
Not every student I talked to tracked their time for years like I did.
But the ones who tracked for just a week saw a huge shock:
“I realized I always had time, I just wasn’t using it intentionally.”
You don’t even need to track time “perfectly” - sometimes just writing “got distracted” works.

System 2: regular reflections
2 of the students I talked to shared something I never expected:
They stayed consistent ever since the life tracking course.
Francesca continued journaling almost daily for 2 years after the course
Kara continued her habits (using the Consistency Calendar Notion template) for 1 year after the course
Their biggest takeaway was that the act of reflecting (regularly writing down their wins) helped them realize…
You can accomplish more than you think.
System 3: values
A few days ago, I got a message that made my day:

Many students mentioned this activity (really understanding your values, what you want out of life, how to feel more fulfilled) as their favourite.
Sometimes even I get stuck in that spiral:
Is what I’m doing right?
What if it’s not perfect?
I don’t know what I want…
And then I lose month tossing and turning, unable to make a decision and suffering the entire time.
But going back to values and my Life North Star Metric always helps give some guidance, and that’s why some students mentioned they feel more fulfilled.

Need guidance setting up these systems?
The Unhinged Life Tracking course can help.
I’ll be hosting a workshop/Q&A later this week to help you build systems of your own, if you’re curious about the course but not ready to commit yet!
